The names turned down are Buddhika Vijitha Senaratne as chairman of Ceynor, Saman Wickramaratne as deputy chairman of Melco, Ceynor director nominees Rohitha Kusumsiri, Sarath Gunawardena, Jayantha Kumara, and Kamal Ananda, R.M. Kumarasena, D.K. Gajanayake, S.M. Ayub and W.M.D. Wijesinghe named as directors for NARA.
The nominee as chairman of Ceynor is a GCE advanced level qualified teacher at a Pirivena, who is a one-time member of Bibile Pradeshiya Sabha.
Soyza’s nominee as deputy chairman of Melco is an ex-member of Madulla Pradeshiya Sabhaya, who has only GCE ordinary level qualifications.
All the director nominees are only GCE O/L qualified.
Headed by speaker Karu Jayasuriya, the parliamentary committee on high posts comprises eight ministers and six MPs.
