Jaffna child was killed by uncle

The Vaddukkodai Police have received information that a single person is responsible for the murder of 6-year-old Sivaneshwaran Regina, the year one student from the Sulipuram area in Jaffna.

He is revealed to be a 22-year old uncle of the child.

Hence, the police had taken measures to produce the other five arrested suspects in court and have them released.

After the child had returned from school, the suspect had taken her away on the pretext of showing her some birds and thereafter molested her.

According to a doctor at the Jaffna hospital, nothing about the rape was mentioned in the post-mortem report as investigations are still underway.

However, it was revealed that the suspect who is said to have distorted sexual desires had molested the child and she had fainted. The panicked suspect had then strangled her before dumping her in the well.

The post-mortem report issued by the Jaffna hospital medical team had determined that death was due to strangulation.
