Concern over HC judge appointment Featured

Judicial circles are concerned by the appointment of a judge to the high court outside the normal procedure and against constitutional provisions.

The accepted method is to make the appointment in consideration of seniority among magistrates.

However, K. Ramanathan had been appointed recently by going against these requirements.

Media reports say he has even failed the examination for magistrates, and sacked by the attorney general’s department due to inefficiency.
