Currently the list of MPs who are to be removed and their list of replacements have already been prepared and the UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera will be handing this list over to the Election Commissioner shortly, these sources revealed.
It is said that out of the 95 MPs around 60 have obtained membership of the SLPP. Accordingly, once they obtain membership of another party, the party has the right to oust them from the party and cancel their MP posts as well.

Meanwhile, MP Mujibur Rahuman said that a complicated situation has arisen regarding the Opposition Leader taking up leadership of another party and its impact on his Opposition Membership and MP post, adding that they intend to notify the Speaker regarding this issue.
SLPP to courts
Meanwhile, according to very reliable sources, the group that joined the SLPP is said to have taken up membership of the SLPP while being prepared to go to courts in the event their SLFP membership is cancelled.
