Cyber regiment for the Army Featured

A new Cyber Regiment has been established in the Sri Lanka Army, it is reported.

The Army has set up this new Cyber Regiment to counter any cyber-attack that may threaten the country at any given time.

Army Commander Lt. Gen. Mahesh Senanayake told media that officers of this regiment have been deployed at every army camp in the country.

He noted that by revealing the threats faced by anyone without hiding the information, these threats could be minimised.

UNP calls for Lankan FB user’s privacy to be protected!

Meanwhile, the UNP had made a written request from Face Book founder Mark Zuckerberg to protect the private information of FB users in Sri Lanka.

The latter was sent under the signature of the UNP Chairman Kabir Hashim.

State Media, Social Media handled by PM’s Office!

Meanwhile, with the change of government, an operation is underway to obtain the passwords of the twitter and FB accounts of the State media, by the newly appointed PM’s Media Secretary Rohan Weliwita, it is reported.

However, while some of the state media institution heads had opposed this move, several others had given their passwords to the PM’s media, it is said.
