JVP says will appear for rights of southern, northern people Featured

The JVP will appear for the rights of the people of both the south and the north, says its Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Speaking at a public rally in Nugegoda yesterday (01), he said the party was not prepared to be just a looker-on at the power struggle between the two capitalist parties.

The JVP will make any sacrifice for the people of the south and the north, he said.

Will not allow anti-democratic acts

Also speaking here, K.D. Lalkantha said the JVP and the northern people were the worst affected by the anti-democratic acts of the governments.

The party will not allow president Maithripala Sirisena to carry on with his anti-democratic acts, he said.

He said the JVP would remain with the mandate of 6.2 million people and would not support either side to the dispute.
