Also invited are the 15 MPs who recently left the government and several members of minority parties.
Rajapaksa has said that a final decision on the matter should be taken with agreement by all in the JO.
SLFP, UPFA too, will meet
Meanwhile, president Maithripala Sirisena has convened a meeting of the SLFP central committee on October 16 that will be followed by a meeting of the UPFA executive committee.
The group of 15 in the SLFP is leading talks between their party and the JO to form a caretaker administration with Rajapaksa as the prime minister that will rule the country until a national election is held.
Sources close to the former president have confirmed that a meeting took place between him and president Sirisena at the home of ex-minister S.B. Dissanayake.
But, the sources declined to give details.
According to ‘The Sunday Times’, former minister Basil Rajapaksa as well was present at the discussion that aims to replace Ranil Wickremesinghe with Mahinda Rajapaksa as the PM.
According to the newspaper, president Sirisena said there that it was difficult to run the government with PM Wickremesinghe.
