Mahinda faces it all alone! Featured

Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa has become uncontrollably angry as none of his key supporters were present when the CID recorded a three-hour long statement at his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo a few days ago.

He was questioned over the abduction and assault of journalist Keith Noyarh on 22 May 2008.

After giving his statement, Rajapaksa came out to speak to the media, flanked by S.M. Chandrasena only.

Losing his temper, the ex-president scolded his personal secretary Udith Lokubandara.

Dinesh Gunawardena, Bandula Gunawardena, Dullas Alahapperuma, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Kumar Welgama, Ranjith Soyza and Pavitra Wannniarachchi were not there to support him.

Previously, speaker Karu Jayasuriya and former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa gave statements to the CID regarding the Noyarh abduction.
