kundalam 360px 06-03-13(Mirror) Hundreds of anti-nuclear activists agitated  in Colombo in front of the Indian High Commission, organized by the Greens4Chenge Environment Movement, urging India to stop the KKNPP project to protect the people and environment.

The protests against (KKNPP) were revived both in India and Sri Lanka with a protest being held in Colombo yesterday (5).

They accused the Sri Lankan government of turning a blind eye to radiation threats from KKNPP and urged the government to reveal the truth and install radiation monitors immediately.

Greens4chenge Environment Movement, convener, Prasad Manjula Ambalanyaya demanded that the Sri Lankan government install radiation monitors, as there were reports that Indian authorities had commenced loading of uranium into the tanks, which were said to be leaking.

He stressed that if India commissions the KKNPP, people of both India and Sri Lanka, representing fisher, agriculture and trade communities would have to face a great nuclear danger.
